Colonial Williamsburg is a brilliant historic attraction where history comes alive! Situated in Virginia, It is often referred to ‘America’s Historic triangle’ which marks key events in the story of colonial America  “from the first lasting English settlement to the final battle that secured liberty and independence for the citizens of the new nation”. Apparently it covers 301 acres - such an enormous historic site and when  I visited it in 2007 during the 400^th anniversary of the founding of the nearby Jamestown Settlement, it was extremely crowded and many Americans were feeling rather patriotic.
